One of the most disappointing things that can happen when it comes to cleaning yourself up is a wimpy shower head. You step into the shower, and yeah, you’re getting wet, but it doesn’t feel like it’s getting the grime off you or helping to massage your shoulders after a long day at work.
But which high pressure shower heads are the best? Which have a variety of sprays? Which are eco-friendly? Which ones are easy to install?
We’ve taken a look at what’s out there and reviewed some of the best high-pressure shower heads to help you make your shower more satisfying.
Speakman S-2252 Signature Icon Anystream Adjustable High-Pressure Shower Head
If you do a web search for “high pressure shower heads,” one of the first companies that will pop up is Speakman. The Speakman S-2252 usually follows that.
The S-2252 has a decent price point, is available in a few different finishes, and can provide a high-pressure shower due to a patented plunger system that Speakman uses. It can provide up to 48 spray patterns. The S-2252 is also an efficient shower head with it being able to conserve 2.5 gallons per minute flow of water.
There are a few downsides, but they are limited. The S-2252 is pretty average in appearance and in terms of installation, the shower head will feel a bit on the heavier side.
Due to its construction, the shower head is more or less self-cleaning, but if you have heavy water, you may have to periodically clean the shower head with a vinegar/water solution to maintain optimum performance.
But, for the price point and performance, the S-2252 might be the best bang for your buck.
Vida Alegria makes several different shower head options for your home, apartment, and even your RV. One of the very best offerings from the company is the Spashower shower head.
Featuring five different settings, the Spashower shower head comes in some different finishes and looks. It’s easy to clean, even if you have hard water build-up. Vida Alegria has enough confidence in this shower head that they offer a three-year warranty on it.
The Spashower does come with a flow restrictor for those who may already have high water pressure, but if you feel that you may need a little more “oomph” to your shower, the restrictor is made to be easily removed.
While it may not feature the number of spray patterns that other shower heads do, the easy clean nature of the head as well the three-year warranty and it’s price point make the Vida Alegria Spashower shower head a definite contender.
YOO.MEE High Pressure Multi-Function Handheld Shower Head
YOO.MEE might not be a name that everyone recognizes, but they have built a high-quality product with this model.
YOO.MEE has built a high-pressure shower head with incredible high pressure action due to YOO.MEE’s proprietary 2XP turbocharging technology. Even systems with bad water pressure can get solid performance out of this model.
Unlike the previous models we mentioned, YOO.MEE’s shower head is detachable with a 79” stainless steel hose. That makes this shower head one of the best to get to all of your nooks and crannies.
The main drawback to YOO.MEE’s high pressure shower head is its plastic construction. While the hose is stainless steel and the pictures give the shower head a similar look, the shower head is actually made of plastic. A set of slippery hands and a good smack against a solid tub could do damage to the shower head. But, YOO.MEE does provide a one-year warranty.
The YOO.MEE high pressure multi-function handheld shower head is a great fit for people who want a high pressure, removable shower head.
Much like the Speakman model we talked about earlier, the Waterpik kind of looks like a standard shower head. However, the Waterpik SM-421 packs a surprising punch in terms of a high-pressure shower head.
The SM-421 has four different spray settings, including a pulsating massage setting. With its “optiflow” technology, this little shower head can push out 2.5 gallons per minute.
Compact, solid performance, and easy to install, the SM-421 has a lot going for it, but the biggest positive is the price point. The Waterpik SM-421 can be regularly found for $20.00 US or under.
The drawbacks? The look. The plain plastic construction of the SM-421 can be off-putting to some as it looks like your standard hotel shower head. However, the limited lifetime warranty Waterpik provides may offset that.
The Waterpik SM-421 is a great high-pressure shower head at a great price with a generic look.
The Delta Faucet 2-Spray H2Okinetic Shower Head, Chrome 75152 doesn’t have much in the way of a variety of sprays but what it does have are power and eco-friendliness.
The H2 Okinetic features a chrome look with four large holes to pump out 2.5 gallons per minute or more. But if you don’t need/want that type of pressure, the H2 Okinetic can use its water-sense technology to provide great pressure and reduce the flow to 1.85 gallons per minute.
The simple design with its large spray spout design also allows for easy cleaning, a bonus for anyone with hard water.
The only shortcoming this shower head has is variety. There is only one pattern for this shower head. No massage, no spray differences, the only changes come from changing the flow and efficiency.
If you want a great looking shower head with low frills, the Delta H2 Okinetic is for you.
Hopefully, we’ve helped you search for a high pressure shower head, whether it’d be a simple design, eco-friendly, variety of spray, hopefully, we’ve given you enough information to help you chose the right high pressure shower head for you.
